This week we meet Library Media Center Director Mary Yockey, a coach for STEAM Team, her middle school’s Genius Hour Club. STEAM Team is an evolving group of students who come to the Library Media Center after school to explore, learn, and make stuff. 3 Parent Book Club With Chris Roberts and Maria Selke



Chris Roberts is a school librarian in Chester County, Pennsylvania. One day, after talking to a library volunteer and parent about books her child might want to read, Chris had the idea for starting a Parents Book Club! She recruited Maria Selke, the gifted teacher, and the instructional coach at her school to offer parents a chance to learn about current children’s literature and other offerings. Sounds like a great program that could be adapted to all levels.

2 Managing Sets of iPads in the School Library with Kris Hughes



 Last year, Kris Hughes’ library got two sets of iPads, to be checked out and used in classrooms. The iPads did not come with a storage option, so Kris got creative to manage the iPads and meet the needs of her students. We’ll find out what she did and what she has planned for this coming school year.
